On 8 April 2025, the ESC-tension 2 partners met in Caen (France) for their third Transnational Project Meeting.
This meeting took place at a crucial stage of the project for the development of its core activities: indeed, Work Package 3 consisting in the development of the “Student Toolbox” is towards its conclusion, officially foreseen for May, whereas Work Package 4, based on the embedding of the toolbox in the platform, has just begun.
The Student Toolbox is a set of tools aimed at raising the Student awareness about the European Student Card (ESC) and the related benefits. Each of these tools dives deep into a specific aspect which is relevant for the use of the ESC in the different Student Journey phases (access, participation and completion).
The meeting was the chance for the partners to go in-depth of the Student Toolbox model, the document describing the elements of its structure and the functioning behind them.
The Student Toolbox will translate into a new area of the ESC-tension website containing all the tools developed. This web page and the documents contained therein will be available in English, French, Italian, and Portuguese and will be organized around 15 topics, technically named Operational Tools (OT).
Each Operational Tool is made of an explanatory text exploring the specific topic in a concise but precise manner, plus an interactive part that can be of a different nature depending on the topic addressed, for example a multiple-choice quiz or a feedback form. OTs are intended to ensure a complete understanding of the topic, to ensure maximum student awareness of the potential of the ESC, and to contribute to the overall goals of the European Student Card Initiative (ESCI).
After this explanation and an example of OT shared by the coordinator, the partners were split into two groups for a workshop aimed at developing two further OTs. This teamwork was very useful, leading to great participation and interaction of all the partners and to achievement of very relevant project milestones.
The core partners will continue to meet online on a regular basis for ongoing updates and will meet again in person in April 2026 for the closing meeting hosted by the coordinator in Italy.
